Growing up mom would say to us, “your job is to learn something”. Mom was notorious for talking with us and impressing upon us that we had to get our education and learn something.
Dad was the same way. He always talked about how you needed to graduate from high school then go to college. Although he was proud of graduating from Alcorn A & M University, it was never a requirement that we attend that university. He was just staunch in that you need to go to school.
Looking back, at times mom and dad had a sense of human. While it was not always serious or always funny, we want to share some of the positive fun things that mom and dad would often say and do.
Some of their sayings were about teaching and reinforcing their information; other sayings were just funny.
